Will braces hurt?
Getting braces put on your teeth doesn’t hurt. However, your teeth might feel sore afterwards. Most patients reported it is uncomfortable rather than painful. This discomfort usually lasts for up to a week, but rarely, is it too uncomfortable to deal with. If needed, we advise our patients to have over-the-counter pain relievers.

Foods to avoid
Breakage of braces or any orthodontic appliance during orthodontic treatment can potentially prolong your treatment time and the end results may be less than ideal. Therefore, we strongly recommend diet modification and a change in how food is consumed during your treatment.
It is best to avoid hard or sticky foods such as nuts, popcorns, caramel toffees, hard lollies, ice cubes, chips etc. Whole fruits and vegetables such as apples and carrots should be cooked or cut into small pieces and eaten carefully with your back teeth.
